Think about this: What’s the biggest reason millions of people log onto the internet each day? Simple. To get information. This is so ubiquitous a quest that Google handles 400 million queries a day! OK, so what’s it to you? It means that you have a massive opportunity to give people exactly what they’re looking for – information. And if you do it right . . . to make some money along the way.
Info marketing explained
This is by far the simplest business you can start. You take information and turn it into a digital product – like and ebook. And people pay you for the information inside it.. Sounds simple enough, right?
How does it work?
We’ve established that it’s a simple concept. However, to succeed there has to be value in the info you’re selling. So step one is to discover what kind of info people want. How can you find out what people want?
A super simple trick is to just to check “answer” sites. Visit answers.yahoo.com or similar sites and you’ll get a good idea of the kinds of things people need help with. You want to find something a lot of people are asking about. Something that most people don’t already know. And solve the problem for them by writing an info product on it.
Think about this:
If you’re worried about how to write and ebook. Think about this: An info product is just a bunch of articles strung together. So instead of sitting down to write the whole thing. Just write some articles for your blog. And when you have a collection, flesh them out, add to them and combine them into a single ebook.
OK, what’s so hot about digital products? Interestingly enough, we’re back to the name of this article Here are the seven reasons
1. Simplicity and ease
Once it’s built it runs pretty much on it’s own. And your customers need very little support. So it’s nearly a 100% hands-free business. You’re building a completely automated business.
You have no physical inventory. There’s nothing to ship. It’s all delivered online.
2. Repurposing
When you have a created a few information products. You can just combine them into a more expensive product. It’s a simple matter to merge a few ebooks into one. And you’ll be able to charge much more for this “new” product. There’s greater perceived value in a single big course. Instead of several small ebooks.
3. Resale rights
When you own the product, you can sell resell rights to it. Resell rights are very hot right now, because most people simply don’t have the time, money and effort it takes to create their own products. And the best part is you get to charge two to three time as much for these rights.
4. Leverage
Leverage means doing something once and reaping multiple rewards. Use part of it to make an autoresponder series. And build your list with it. A list is it’s own reward!
5. More leverage
You can also take parts of your ebook and turn it into smaller eBooks. These reports can then become lead generators for your ebook. They can be free or low prices. And it still benefits you because it in a lead-in for the main product. And if you’re really clever, you’ll let your affiliate use these reports as marketing tools. Which brings us to…
6. An army of affiliates
This one is huge. Once you have your own product. Other people can become your affiliates. Imagine having 100′s or 1000′s of other people promoting your products. You’ve got to have your own products to have affiliates.
7. JVs
I’ve saved the best for last. The number one way to launch your success is through joint ventures. So, I’d say this is the most important reason to have you own products. Without your own products, you can’t do JVs.
Summary
If you’re not convinced to start selling information products, then you’ve probably been sleeping. With your own info product you can write your own ticket. Because you’re the boss! So, decide to just start:
- Head over to Yahoo! answers
- Discover what questions are being asked
- Write about the answers
Don’t make info product creation any more complicated than that. And in short time you’ll have the foundation for your own info product.
